Unlike many, Abdulshakur was denied at birth by his biological father. Life was sad for the little family given that his mom was unable to give him the best she wished she would. An encounter with Watoto was the beginning of bliss for both mother and child. With the help of the Watoto Neighborhood program, his mother is skilled in hands-on projects and Abdulshakur is enrolled in school.

Abdulshakur is a very hardworking boy. He loves helping his Mother. During holidays, he helps his mother sale face masks. In future, he would like to become a doctor or an engineer. He enjoys playing soccer with his friends after school. Abdulshakur also loves the colour white and enjoys eating rice as his best meal. He enjoys learning mathematics in school as one of his favorite subjects.

Abdulshakur is a very hilarious boy who loves dancing in church on Sunday. His brilliance enables him recite memory verses to the dot without stammering.
