Zara’s mother abandoned her at a local hospital in Kampala when Zara was about three weeks old. Watoto Child Care Ministries gave Zara shelter at Baby Watoto Home, where she received care and attention from loving volunteers and staff.

In due time, a happy, healthy Zara graduated to a Watoto Home in a Watoto Village, where a devoted housemother and Watoto brothers and sisters quickly made her feel part of the family. Zara is a lively girl who loves to play games with her friends. Zara’s housemother showers her with love and care, giving her all the attention she needs. She is quickly learning how to help Mama around the house.  Zara will soon begin a quality education at theWatotoSchoolwhere she will study till she graduates from high school.

On Sundays, Mama takes Zara to the Watoto Church, where the whole family receives spiritual nourishment. Zara is a very happy child full of life.
